Yes, anyone 16 years old and above need to purchase a Wisconsin Fishing license and Great Lake trout and salmon stamp. If you are fishing one day and choose to you can purchase a one day license and your stamp. Anyone 16 and up that plane on touching a rod, needs the license and stamp. These can be purchased online on the Wisconsin Go Wild website or at local bait shops and some gas stations.
Good things to bring on your trip are warm clothes, your choice of food and beverage, sun screen, rain gear if rain Is in the forecast, and if sea sickness is a concern we recommend taking a dose of Dramamine before your trip to avoid sickness. NO BANANAS and bring a paper copy of your fishing license and stamp, this is required on the Great Lakes.
Anyone ages 14 years old and younger are required to wear a life jacket at all times. We ask that you bring a life jacket for them as the life jackets we provide are type 1 and very uncomfortable for everyday use, they are what is required by the USCG. Otherwise, no you do not unless you choose to do so. If weather conditions change and safety becomes a concern then the captain may direct you for safety purposes to place a type 1 life jacket on.
